The Jubilee Ride is a planned cycling ride from Norway to Uganda 25 years after our last bicycling adventure of 22.000 kilometers Norway – Uganda – Norway and then visiting all the Lionsclubs in Norway on wheels. Starting april 1th 2048 it will be an amazing experience through Europa and parts of Africa before reaching Kampala.
The most important though is this ride as a different way of fundraising and getting attention to our important work for the needy children of Uganda. Since 2015 we have reduced malaria by distributing mosquitonets. We have helped 1.030 kids and their mothers out of slum and powerty parts of Kampala and Buikwe to a better life. More than 95 percent of them girls – and almost all the mothers infected by hiv. The children were starving, they didn’t attend any schools, and the mothers did not get any treatment for their sickness.
Our program supports the children with regulary meals, all children have their schoolfees paid by the organization, Care4 Starving Children. Mothers and children gets healthcare, and all the mothers are treated by the national program for hiv-victims. This is all financed mainly by private sponsors and all kind of creative fundraising activities supported by both private and business donors.
